Watering Tips & Applications

To help ensure your landscape addition continues to flourish, it is essential to maintain things as best as possible. Below are some helpful tips for watering your landscape applications. Most importantly, DO NOT WATER IF IT RAINS and be sure to turn off any sprinkling systems during extensive rainfall.

Perennials, Trees & Shrubs

Application
Use a shower type hose attachment or a sprinkler. DO NOT allow water directly from hose to run continuously on the plants, this will drown them. You should spray the entire plant and spray water several inches around the plant.

Day 1
Be sure the plants are saturated with water all around the rootball.

First 2 Weeks
Water all new plants exposed to sunlight once per day. Plants in shady areas, as well as evergreens should be done every other day, preferably early morning or early evening before the sun sets. Water should saturate at least 2” deep into the soil.

After First 2 Weeks
Water every other day for the next two weeks. During the second month water every three days until the plant roots are well established. Continue with a consistant / necessary watering pattern for the life of the plants.

Annuals

Application
Use a soft flow shower sprinkler wand type hose attachment. Also your flowers would greatly benefit from a balanced liquid fertilizer several times throughout the season.

Season
Water all plants exposed to sun light once per day. Plants in shady areas can be done every day or every other day. Early morning or early evening before the sun sets for the entire summer season.
